Hey Bloggers! This is a website I came across pointing out some great vegetarian protein sources to support those heavy training sessions!
Here is the link if you want to check it out yourself http://vegetarian.about.com/od/healthnutrition/tp/protein.htm
So here are some of the things on the list:
*Quinoa (Live on this stuff!)
*Beans, Lentils and Legumes
*Tofu and Soy (This stuff will soak up the flavor of anything you put it in)
*Meat substitutes (All made from delicious veggies)
*NUTS (The fats are great for your heart)
*Protein Supplements (Shakes and Powders, add fruit for a treat)
See! The most common question people ask me when I tell them I am vegetarian is "Where do you get you're protein? Believe me, I get my protein from all these great sources every day!
Have you guys tried any of these foods?
LET ME KNOW!
I'm not a vegetarian but love Quinoa! it's very nutritional. Did you know that the Incas lived on it as well? It was their main source of energy... You can tell I'm Peruvian...
ReplyDeleteWill you be posting recipes as well? Looking forward to read more postings
I also was told to eat Quinoa by a nutritionist, saying it was a whole protein I believe. I've cooked with it in noodle and "grain" form. I am in your class, my name is Joyce, maybe you could check out and follow my blog too. It was meant to help students save money. :-)
